Armeen Musa is a young upcoming artist of the Bangladesh Music Scene. A Singer and songwriter, Armeen is one of the first female vocalists in the Dhaka underground alternative music scene, leading her own cover band from the age of 13; who flowed into limelight after successful collaborations with other bands and projects (The Icons- 2003, Fuad’s Re/evolution-2005, Yaatri- 2006). She is currently working on her own solo album “Aye ghum bhangai” (Come, let’s awaken) with 11 of her own songs featuring her band The Grasshoppers and other well known artists including Buno, Labik Kamal, Adil, Zoe Rahman and Idris Rahman. Her music ranges from alternative rock, accoustic fusion, electronica, to Indian classical; in which she has been training over the years from Indian classical and Nazrulgeeti artist Sujit Mustafa. Till date, one of her bigger accomplishments is working with Kishon Khan (a London based jazz pianist) on his project “Lokkhi Terra” where she performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London (From Bangla beat to Afro beat- 2006) with well known musicians such as drummer Mark Mondesir, Tabla player Fazal Qureshi, percussionist Dinesh Pandit, and another eleven well reputed musicians in the world music scene.| |
