Bishi born Bishnu Lisa is a British singer, musician and DJ, she is a London-based multi-instrumentalist talister strongly influenced by annual visits to the Ravi Shankar School in New Delhi, Bishi was recognized only in 2001 that the central DJ & 'face' of London's experimental underground nightclub was born in British a Bengali musical family Bishi started singing when she was two years old, her mother an Indian classical / traditional singers enrolled her in a music education Trained in both Eastern and Western classical music Bishi started playing the piano and harmonium studies aged six and went on to learn guitar and sitar in his teens Her musical influences including English folk music and disco Bishi started his musical career in SoundStorm - an improvised electro -kustisk outcome enrt squad led by London nightclub legend Matthew Glam Black grouse and his long time employees Richard Torry Bishi is also characterized by her glamorous and extravagant stage appearance
Media appearances include BBC's Culture show recently, she has received critical attention and been nominated for the 2008 South Bank Show Awards - the 'Times Breakthrough Award'
Her first album nights at Circus was described as "Falling somewhere between Mia and Simon and Garfunkel via a stint at music college" with Bishi hailed as "a welcome fan" album performed in its whole, with strings by The London Symphony Orchestra in June 2008 at LSO St Luke's in 2008 that she was asked to join a guided tour of the great voices British People's "The Daughterrs of Albion alongside the likes of Norma Waterson and June Tabor, she has toured and collaborated with close friend Patrick Wolf and ex Moloko singer Roisin Murphy She appeared on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross Friday, 3 October sings "Never Seen Your Face"
In March 2009 Bishi (in collaboration with composer Neil Kaczor) was commissioned by the British Film Institute and the bird's eye view Festival to compose a score for 1923 silent film Salome The first live performance was received rapturously at the National Film Theater in London's South Bank
