Born in New Jersey and raised in Carolina, RioGrande, Loíza and Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, Chyno Nyno is next in line to take over the Latin Hip-Hop/Reggaeton crown! Introduced at an early age to music by his father who was a popular salsa DJ in New Jersey, Chyno grew to love all types of music. His influences range from salsa to soul to hip-hop music. Growing up, Chyno got accustomed to being around musicians and eventually this led him to follow his father’s footsteps by taking his turn on the turntables as a DJ. In the late 80’s Chyno started to perfect his craft as a lyricist. He soon moved from Carolina to Rio Grande where he started to perform shows around Loiza and Rio Grande with DJ Adam (currently Tego Calderon’s DJ). Being raised in Carolina helped Chyno adjust to the environments of the Bronx, New York where he eventually moved to in 1995 because of the drugs and ongoing crime in the streets of Puerto Rico.
