Dubstar formed by Sarah Blackwood Steve Hillier and Chris Wilkie in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1992 after being discovered by a fellow North East UK-based manager and producer Graeme Robinson Robinson renamed the band formerly known as the "The Joan"
