With more than 15 years in the Grupera genre, Déborah and Gabriela Pastor, founders of the original idea of Las Ilegales, have traveled all over Mexico performing in community theaters, arenas, rodeos, popular dances, bars and nightclubs, teatro de revista (like Vaudeville) like El Blanquito, private gatherings, radio and TV. In such places, the all-female group shared the stage with artists of renoun such as Banda El Recodo, Los Tigres del Norte, Ana Bárbara, laura león, Banda El Mexicano, maribel guardia, Yaguarú, Los Vázquez, Los Yonics, Rigo Domínguez, Banda Machos, Bobby Pulido, Alicia Villareal, among others, headlining various events. In Mexico Las Ilegales have 3 unpublished albums under their belt in the grupero, cumbia, and banda genres, productions in which they were entirely in charge of the musical arrangements and agreements, and the distribution of their work.
With their original concept in 1995 they won first place and international recognition at the Texano Music Competition in San Antonio Texas, for going beyond the expectations of the judges. They competed against more than 80 other Mexican groups. Later they recorded a Tex-Mex and Tejano album in Corpus Christi, where they had the opportunity to perform in various venues in the United States such as Texas, Los Ángeles, Toledo Ohio, etcetera, sharing the stage with such personages as Bobby Pulido, Ramón Ayala, Gary Hobbs, among others, headlining events and participating in important radio and television programs.
Currently Las Ilegales are working on their next release in the cumbia grupera genre, well as the British writer Oliver Goldsmith said: “The ladies and their music should never be dated.”“
