Their sound is based on authentic jazz rhythms from the 60s and 70s and has been linked with similar jap-jazz bands like SOIL & “PIMP” Sessions and Sleep Walker. With a mixed club and latin feel they deliver all their music live and have gained a strong support in their native Japan. quasimode consists of Yusuke Hirado (Piano), Takahiro “Matzz” Matsuoka (Percussions), Kazuhiro Sunaga (Bass), and Takashi Okutsu (Drums), but is often acting with various guests. The demonstration, created with Masato Komatsu (Slowly) as the producer, attracted Kei Kobayashi’s attention, and it was collected in “Routine Jazz #07” of August 2005. Another demo, the cover of Tubby Hayes’ classic hit “Down in the village”, got to Mad Mats who is the owner of Raw Fusion in Sweden. He offered the pre-release as 12-inch single.
