Vanessa Brown (born October 24, '83 known professionally as VV Brown) is an English artist songwriter and producer signed to Universal's Island Records in Britain and the EMI Capitol Records in the U.S. "Los Angeles Times and the British newspaper The Independent 'have both called Brown one artist to watch in 2009

She released her debut album, Journey and the light in July 2009 by Universal Records The album was preceded by a limited, non-chart eligible release of Crying Blood and Get out! and a third single entitled "Shark in the water which reached # 34 on the UK singles chart making it her most successful single to date
