Her father was the well-known journalist and sports commentator Orhan Aldinç. Aldinç first became known for performing with the Modern Folk Trio at the Eurovision Song Contest 1981 in Dublin. Their song, Dönme dolap (The carousel), received eighteenth place. In 1988 she started her career in Turkish pop music, and has since released five solo albums.
