There he formed his early ties with singing and playing instruments. Akarsu was a huge fan of rock music in general, listening to music from Cem Karaca and Barış Manço as well as Western acts like Led Zeppelin or U2. He temporarily worked as an animator and musician before reaching his fame and gave concerts in a number of bars, television and radio shows. Baris became a celebrity shortly after winning the title on Academy Turkiye, a singing contest on a private TV station. He released his first album “Islak Islak” and on August 2006.
