Cleavage was a Canadian band based mainly in Toronto, Ontario. Members included Lukas Rossi on lead vocals, John Jamieson on drums & percussion, Bill Jamieson on bass, Jeff Smith on guitar, piano, and backing vocals. The four members of the band grew up in the same neighbourhood and had known each other since childhood. At the 2000 NXNE Music Festival they won the award for ‘Best Canadian Unsigned Band.’ The prize-pack included 3 days of studio recording time at Umbrella Sound, CD-manufacturing by Universal Music Group, and distribution through HMV. Cleavage worked in the studio with Rush’s Alex Lifeson. On May 29th, 2001, Cleavage’s 6-song debut CD, self-titled ‘Cleavage’, was released - with guaranteed shelf space & (limited) distribution at HMV stores across Canada.
