Dan Rockett is tagged as: Dan Rockett’s need to explore music as a child was a natural obsession. From Neil Young’s “Sugar Mountain” to The Beatles “Strawberry Fields Forever”, he was engrossed by the powerful combination of lyric and melody. He began playing drums when he was seven, and then later switched to guitar in high school. While at Boston College, earning degrees in Literature, Secondary Education, Philosophy, and Theology, Dan’s true passion became apparent as he began writing his own songs. As a respected figure in the Boston music scene, he would find himself sharing the stage with some of his favorite artists such as, Los Lobos, The Flaming Lips, Ziggy Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Al Kooper, G. Love, Medeski Martin and Wood, Stevie Nicks…etc. He would even front an All Star Tribute to Bob Marley, which performed three very special sold out shows. With Dan on lead vocals the band also included the legendary jazz drummer Bob Moses, Guitarists Vernon Reid of Living Colour and Eric Krasno of Soulive, bassist Keith Moseley of The String Cheese Incident, and B-3 player Paul Wollstencroft of Melvin Sparks’ band.
