Consisting of Tomiko Van (vocalist) and Ryo Owatari (guitarist), several of their songs has been used as themes for Japanese television shows, movies, video games, and anime, which gained them a great amount of popularity both in Japan and worldwide. They were formed in Tokyo in 1999, and debuted as a trio the same year with Dai Nagao as composer and leader. In 2003 their greatest hits album Do The Best achieved million sales in Japan. The group disbanded in September 2005 and performed their last live concert at the Nippon Budokan. Each member moved onto other projects: Tomiko Van went singing as a soloist under her name; Ryo Owatari was dedicating his time to the 3-piece band Missile Innovation and supporting other bands/artists on guitars; and Dai Nagao continued acting as a composer for various Avex Trax artists. After 3 years of inactivity, the band announced their comeback with the same supporting members as before and a promise of new releases.
