Faith & Disease is an ethereal band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1991. The founders and main members of the band are vocalist Dara Rosenwasser and guitarist and songwriter Eric Cooley. Their often melancholy sound has been compared to early 4ad artists like Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, and This Mortal Coil, but they have also been influenced by Mazzy Star, The Cure (who they have covered), and The Velvet Underground, among others.
Their debut album “Beauty And Bitterness” was released in 1993 on local Seattle indie label, Ivy Records. This was followed by “Fortune His Sleep” (1995) and “Insularia” (1998). They also released a collection of live concert recordings, “Live Songs: Third Body,” in 1996. After this, they signed with the larger Projekt label and released “Beneath The Trees,” followed by “Dream The Red Clouds” EP, a collaboration with ambient artist Jeff Greinke. Their most recent release is “Passport To Kunming” in 2003....
