After some mediocre tryouts with different singers, Alexander Wennerqvist finally found his soulmate at the students’ christmas farce 2001 in their high school, Kärrtorp Gymnasium. Pontus Johansson played his guitar and sang some covers on stage. Girls were fainting everywhere. Alex took heart to ask Pontus for a collaboration. Meanwhile Alex’s acquintance Maja was also asked to provide vocals. So the three together founded Empty Words spring 2002. Nothing really happened that year, except for two live appearances in school. Early 2003, the band changed their name to Fantazja and did a successful gig at the local Walpurgis event for hundreds of people. More and more songs were taking shape and they agreed to release a demo. Demo 1, including ‘Kathy’, ‘How I Feel’ and ‘Jealousy’, which all reached #1 at the http://www.electrogarden.com chart.
