Hayvanlar Alemi is tagged as: experimental, turkish, psychedelic, post-rock, pscyhedelic “Hayvanlar Alemi consists of four middle school friends trying to get themselves into everything psychedelic, exotic and adventerous. Founded as a hard-and-heavy cover band in 1999 in Ankara, Turkey, the band soon morphed into a freely improvising psych-rock unit, broadening their range over the years to include sounds of many traditional and popular styles from around the globe. Band’s works range from never-ending psych venturings to two minute international pop covers, from West African blues guitars to pulsating Thai rhythms, from toyings with dub-reggae-ska triangle to droning ambiance, from fancy costumes to jeans and t-shirts, from radio collages to acoustic street craft… always kept loose and driven by mood, inevitably melting into their distinctive sound and structure. Hayvanlar Alemi has two incarnations: The quartet of Hazar Mutgan, Işık Sarıhan, Özüm İtez and Gökçe Başar, and the duo of Işık Sarıhan and Özüm İtez. Besides their first officially released album (Gaga, 2006) the band has a dozen or so self-released cdrs, and their second album GUARANA SUPERPOWER is released by Sublime Frequencies on vinyl in 2010 and on cd in 2011. In 2008, Hayvanlar Alemi started to release their “Hayvanthropological Field Recordings Series”... Read More About Hayvanlar Alemi Biography... Send Hayvanlar Alemi ringtones to your cell |
