By the age of two, she was singing and harmonizing on “Happy Birthday” with her mother, Candace. By the age of six, Holly was performing professionally with her mother in a mother-daughter duo called Generations. At 15, she had already recorded 3 independent albums as Generations. By the time she reached high school, Holly was sneaking into nightclubs and befriending jazz musicians. She says, “the musicianship was absolutely mind-blowing.” With the help of a friend, jazz bassist Jeff Eckels, Holly put together her first band and they played their first show at the Concourse Hotel Bar in Madison. She was only 15. In 2003, she moved to Los Angeles where she met producer Jon Ingoldsby, who has worked with Madonna and Elton John, as well as writers/producers Rob Hoffman and Heather Holley. Together, they produced a demo which grabbed industry attention. In the fall of 2004, Holly signed a recording contract with Machine Shop Recordings.
