Jacob is also the lead singer of the band, Betamax. Jacob was born in Littlehampton, South Australia on the 29th of March 1982 to parents, Cynthia and Baden. Jacob has two brothers, Brenton and Tegan. Jacob’s love of music can be traced back to his childhood where he grew up surrounded by singing and musical intruments. His parents formed a duo called, “Who Wears The Pants?” performing gigs around Adelaide. Butler could be found in his pajamas watching his parents at their rehearsals or singing with his mum while driving in her car. When Butler was thirteen he began playing the guitar. At age sixteen, Butler became the drummer for a cover band, Bantha. He was also a member of another cover band called, Single White Male. After finshing school Jacob started a Commerce degree, which he carried out for three weeks before leaving.
