The South African-born transplant (who now calls San Francisco home) gained his first major taste of local- and then national- notoriety in 2004/2005 for an unlikely string of events that began with a serendipitous opening spot with The Who and culminated in a cover story in the San Francisco Chronicle, which brought to light not only an impressive and growing list of famous fans, but also the fact that Fix had actually been secretly living in a Financial District office to save the money to record his buzz-generating demo. 2008 sees the long-awaited release of his self-produced debut album: “Free At Last”.
