Kalafina is tagged as: japanese, j-pop, female vocalists, anime, kara no kyoukai Kalafina is a Japanese girl group produced by composer Yuki Kajiura under Sony Music Associated Records Inc., most known for performing all seven Kara no Kyoukai theme songs (Kajiura also scored the anime movies’ background music). Established in late 2007, Kalafina consists of Wakana Ohtaki (大滝若菜 · FictionJunction WAKANA), Keiko Kubota (窪田啓子 · FictionJunction KEIKO), Maya and Hikaru, who were all selected via audition by Yuki Kajiura herself. The group’s identities were initially kept secret for several months until its four member line-up was fully revealed in spring of 2008. Kalafina also contributed background vocals to the Kara no Kyoukai soundtracks. As of May 2009, Maya is no longer a member of Kalafina. Their debut single Oblivious, which contained the first three Kara no Kyoukai themes, was released on January 23, 2008. Re/oblivious, a remix mini-album, followed exactly three months after their official debut.
