Laugh At Lora is tagged as: rock, indie, power pop, alternative, emo Laugh At Lora was founded in 1997 by the two brothers, Gabriel (vocals) and Tobias Niedzkowski (drums), and their fellow students, Oliver Engels (guitar) and Jörg Hedke (bass). Pretty soon, the original line-up changed, as Jörg was replaced by bassist/singer Daniel Niedzkowski to complete the siblings. In addition to his singing, Gabriel decided to grab a guitar as well, which he held on to everafter and still plays in Germany’s Emo-hopefuls, Three.Minute.Poetry. Laugh At Lora’s live-sets of the early days delighted local hearts at shows with the likes of Cave In, The Get-Up Kids, Hot Water Music, Pop Unknown, and many others. Despite being quite ambitious song-writers, the four did not make an appearance on disc before July 2001, when „Hellogoodbye“, a five-track EP, was released on Axel Redlich’s Indie-label MusicIsMyHeroin. After two more years spent on stage and in the rehearsal room, Laugh At Lora decided to go big and hired Daniel Klingen (Klee, Subterfuge) and Thomas Hannes (Three.Minute.Poetry, Days in Grief, etc.) to record their full-length debut, „Based On Affection“ in the summer of 2003.
