Born and raised in Jackson Heights, New York to a Puerto Rican mother and Dominican father. At the age of four, she would sing along to the latest songs on the radio, sometimes performing classics by Anita Baker, New Edition, Whitney Houston and Lisa Lisa. During her teen years she worked odd jobs to make ends meet. However, juggling jobs didn’t satisfy her desire to sing; she then pursued her music career searching for a connection in the music industry. In 2002, Quezada signed her first record deal with Lava/Atlantic. Upon completing the album, and getting ready to go on a promotional tour for the album. Quezada decidedly walked away from her contract stating she was unhappy with the (very pop) music they made her record. And couldn’t perform an album she didn’t believe in. 2004, Quezada met Lil’ Flip and was featured on the track “Sunshine”. Which became a #2 hit, for 4 weeks on the Billboard Charts.
