Among their best selling hits are ballads as “The Actor”, “That’s Why You Go”, and “Paint my Love”. The group was formed in 1988 at a high school in Aarhus, Denmark. The group consists of four members (in fact three when they started the group). The singer and keyboard player Jascha Richter (b. 1963), drummer Kare Wanscher (b. 1969), guitarist Mikkel Lentz (b. 1968) and Soren Madsen (b. 1967). Soren Madsen joined the group as a bass drummer, though he was a guitarist. The group started as a little cafe band, but soon won the annual talent contest in Aarhus in May 1988. MLTR signed one of the judges, JP Andersen, as their new manager. Since their international debut in 1991 with the album Michael Learns to Rock, the group has sold over 9 million copies, and have been performing ever since.
