Mikro is tagged as: electronic, electronica, electro, greek, ambient Mikro (Μίκρο) is a Greek electropop band based in Thessaloniki, Greece. It was formed in 1998 and was named after the Greek word micro (μίκρο) used in metric measuring systems. The members of the group are: Nikos Bitzenis (programming, loops, synths, vocals), Ria Mazini (vocals, synths), Giannis Lefkaditis (guitar), Stelios Emmanuilidis (synths, loops, DJ’s scratch). Nikos Bitzenis and Giannis Lefkaditis began experimenting with electropop music in the late 90s having influences of the 80s era such as Depeche Mode, Erasure, New Order and Duran Duran. Later, Panos Tolios (of the Greek band Wooden Swords), Giorgos Kostopoulos and Ria Mazini enter the group and their EP Σταγόνες (“Stagones”, Drops) goes out in 1998. After the production of the single Άσπρη σοκολάτα (“Aspri Sokolata”, White Chocolate), Panos Tolios and Giorgos Kostopoulos leave the group and Stelios Emmanuilidis gets in, forming Mikro as of today.
