M&M is tagged as: old school hardcore, eminem, underground rap, progressive house, suburban base There are at least three artists to have recorded under the name M&M: 1. M&M was originally a new wave group formed in Toronto in 1977 as Martha & The Muffins. Lead singer Martha Johnson and guitarist Mark Gane shortened the name to M&M and downsized the group to a twosome in 1984. They scored a huge dance hit in the U.S. with “Black Stations/White Stations” which stayed at #2 on the Billboard charts for three weeks that year. 2. A dance act, comprising of producers Mark Williams and Matthew Clayden, signed to the influential suburban base records. They released a number of old skool rave anthems including the huge Don’t Stand In my Way and Tell Me Why featuring rachel wallace. 3. M&M was also the original name of rapper Eminem, when he was just a local artist in detroit. The two M’s represent Marshall Mathers; his birth name. Mars threatened to sue him because of their product of the same name, so he was forced to change his name to Eminem (M&M spelt as it is pronounced).... Read More About M&M Biography...
