They blend psychedelic influences with Os Mutantes and come up with a fresh sound for the new millenium. Upon hearing the song Não Mande Flores (Don’t Send Flowers), Arnaldo Baptista, ex-guitar and vocals from Os Mutantes stated in the Brazilian press: “Sonically they are superior to Os Mutantes, and they remind me of the Beatles”. “Mopho”, the eponymous debut album, was produced by Mopho and mixed by the band and Luiz Calanca (Brazilian producer of underground rock bands from São Paulo which include Smack, Kafka and As Mercenárias). The album is being released through Baratos Afins, responsible for re-releasing Os Mutantes classic first five albums in the mid-eighties (after being deleted for over a decade by their record company, and turning a new generation of fans, in Brazil and abroad, onto the music of Os Mutantes). The album is awash in psychedelic influences and will bring eargasms to anyone who is into sixties pop and acid-rock.... Read More About Mopho Biography... Send Mopho ringtones to your cell |
