Although born in London, Morgan King started his career in Manchester (UK). His first band, “Illustration”, appeared on the Some Bizarre album of 1981, which also featured the first recordings by the likes of, Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, Blancmange and the The. After a few years honing his musical skills Morgan moved to Chicago in the late 80’s, where he got together with godfather of house, Marshall Jefferson, and house diva Kym Mazelle for the writing of her first album. Back in Europe a year later, he remixed Gwen Guthrie’s “Ain’t Nothin’ Going On But The Rent”, then in 1990 Morgan teamed up with the classic Swedish house label Btech for a number of underground projects such as Technoir, Control E and Al Hambra. In 1991, he formed the act Clubland along with vocalist Zemya Hamilton and Btech owner Jan Ekholm. Their debut singe “Let’s Get Busy” (remixed by Snap) became a worldwide hit, including No 1 in the Billboard Club Chart.
