Largely a product of Kato’s unique lyrical wordplay and storytelling as well as skillful beatmaking, Prago are considered by many fans and critics to be one of the best and most consistent hip-hop artists of the Czech hip-hop scene. The group consists of two members:|Kato (Adam Svatoš, born 1979)|DJ Maro Former:|DJ Skupla|Dědek (live performances only) Both Kato (calling himself Deph back then) and Skupla were former members of Chaozz, a well-known hip-hop formation that helped pioneer the genre in Czech Republic in the mid-90’s and brought it into mainstream. With their youthful, sometimes naive, lyrics and a big record company behind them, they got some disrespect from other artists and many people only saw the band and its members as “one-hit wonders”. Towards the end of Chaozz, Kato realized that he didn’t even know how to use a sampler and that without the big record company supporting him, he would be a nobody.
