Roadside Poppies were established in Cambridge, UK in 2005 by multi-instrumentalist and singer Matloob Qureshi as a one-man ‘pop with tuneless melodies’ project, but the project quickly grew into a full band, with two songwriters, two lead singers and skillful keyboard- and guitar players. The indie pop ensemble somehow managed to stray a small distance off the grassy verge of tunelessness and into a field of catchy and bass-driven guitar pop songs.
