It is made up of Ham Byung Sun (vocals), Jung Won Joong (lead guitar), Hwang Sung Soo (bass) and Park Jung Ho (drums). In winter 2001, Rocket Diary was founded. They started off as a high school band until they began recording their first demos in 2002. In 2003 they held their first performances in clubs. Initially they also had a keyboardist Ham Pil Lim, who was replaced by Hong Sun Gi in 2006 as the second guitarist. In 2005, they joined MonkyGlobal and started working on their debut single 20 Instant Life that was released on October 18th and included 3 songs. In 2006, Rocket Diary had a guest appearance in the Korean movie Fly High. Through this they gained more popularity outside the underground rock scene. Their first album District 13 was finally released in Feburary 2007. The song Morning Glory from this album was used as the Korean title theme for the One Piece movie and was released as a digital single. In 2009, after releasing another digital single as the promotional song for the movie Trap in Korea, the band announced a hiatus as its members went for army duty.
