In August 1999 their first single “Sister” was released to overnight sensation status. By December 1999 it would break into the top five of ARIA Pop music chart, Peaking at #3. Their follow-up, “What’s a Girl to Do” would debut at #10 on January 31, 2000 and go top five a week later. Their debut album, “One” would debut at #3 on ARIA’s album chart in February 2000. The surprising success of Sister2Sister and their singles would also translate into moderate success overseas, especially in the United Kingdom and in the United States, the latter where they landed a deal with Sony BMG Music Entertainment/Columbia Records and joined a national tour of young Pop music acts that were being sponsored (separately) by Nickelodeon and Radio Disney.
