He and some friends formed the infamous “Modulations” and “Pillow”. Basically those bands didn’t last long, but musical interest grew along the years. He played the guitar and “sang” in loads of bands, such as ds-1., pillow, rtm and chilla’s fate. While studying in Ghent, he met Fish, a dark friendly bastard who showed him some tricks and tips about making music. Another guy called Mr Beaucoup, played saphir some real fine classics from the dance scene which had a major impact on how saphir will make his music from now on. Early drum ‘n bass artist such as urban shakedown, sacred, rufige kru, zinc and hype became common music to Saphir and the addiction for this experimental genre widened. Saphir started making some tunes and got warm appreciation from everywhere. That was the first step in Saphirs production and has spent time twisting his head around the software to create his own sound in his never ending training in production.
