The band started when its three members, Shaun Diviney, Andy Clemmensen and Bradie Webb met at Hunter School of the Performing Arts. That year, they entered Youthrock, a competition for school-based bands. They failed to pass the first round of the competition, which motivated the band to work harder and subsequently placed 3rd when they entered in 2006. In 2008, Short Stack were awarded Channel V’s OZ Artist of the Year Award, beating out other popular acts including The Getaway Plan, The Living End, The Veronicas and Kisschasy. The band have released three singles from their album, Stack Is The New Black, “Shimmy A Go Go”, “Princess” and “sway sway baby”, which peaked at #2 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Their debut album, “Stack Is The New Black” was released on August 14th and became the second top selling album on iTunes (worldwide) on the day it was released and debuted at #1 on the ARIA Album Chart.
