Taborah began her career in Italy as the songwriter, face and vocalist of the group Blackwood. She signed with Italian label ACV Music and released three albums with them. Blackwood’s debut album Ride on the Rhythm (1992) was created with Toni Verde, Marascia and Kortezman and it featured the single I Feel You. In 1996 Blackwood re-released Ride on the Rhythm a dance song with the second album In The City, which was a mixture of soul and pop music. The single charted number one On Billboard’s Hits of the World for 12 weeks. Blackwood was also noted in the dance community with such articles as Billboard’s Acts Sent from Italy (1997).
