Taxim is an electro fun punk band from Essen, Germany. Originally as electro industrial project, it was founded by Alex Ney a.k.a. “Spaßdämon” in 1996. The band consists of “Spaßdämon“ (bass, music, lyrics, vocals, production), “Frau Kopfschuss“ (guitars, vocals) and „Kat“, also known as “Frau Schön“ (keyboards, voice).|Alex started his musical career in the 1980s with Commodore 64 music. He was one of the most famous C64 musicians and C64 “remixers” of the 1990s. He is regarded as a founder of the C64 remix scene. Taxim released several albums, EPs and singles, however, only the US debut album “Ecclesiophobia” is being distributed (worldwide). This album also contains Taxim’s most popular track so far (“Genetisches Material”).|Until 2008, Taxim was a one man project. Then M.R. (now “Frau Kopfschuss“), a rather famous singer-songwriter of the 1970s, joined Taxim. In the same year the duo released their EP “Psychologenfutter” (German for fodder for psychologists), which flopped due to a lack of promotion.|In 2009, Alex broke with his former styles and started producing electro fun punk.
