The Sleeping Years is tagged as: folk, indie, singer-songwriter, irish, indie pop The Sleeping Years is the new project for ex-Catchers singer Dale Grundle.|The Sleeping Years released a trilogy of EPs in handmade covers in 2007, ‘You and Me Against The World’,, ‘Setting fire to sleepy towns’ and ‘Clocks and clones’. The debut album ‘We’re becoming islands one by one’ was released on Talitres Records in Europe and Rocketgirl in the UK and Ireland in 2008. Dale was born in Coleraine, Northern Ireland and started his first band Catchers while at school and signed to Setanta Records. Dale went on to tour with Pulp, Edwyn Collins, The Divine Comedy, Dr. John and Oasis. Catchers recorded their second album ‘Stooping to Fit’ with Nick Drake’s arranger Robert Kirby writing string and brass section parts for some of the songs. The release of ‘We’re becoming Islands One by One’ took The Sleeping Years across France, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Portugal and the UK, with dates in Vienna and Ireland. This included shows supporting Bowerbirds, Damien Jurado, Gregor Samsa, Edwyn Collins and Okkervil River.
