Growing up on a farm in rural South Australia carried very few privileges for vocal front-man and guitarist Ash Gale. However, in retrospect, the shortage of traffic, people and big city lights gave him two privileges he wouldn’t trade for the world: time and space. Time, to process his extraordinary songwriting abilities; and space, to sing as loud – and as passionately – as he possibly could. After teaming up with acoustic guitarist/vocalist Jason Shepherd with his beautiful acoustic meanderings, the boys joined forces with Luke Zecchin, a self-confessed guitar connoisseur with a strong background in jazz. The partnership made between these three friends was natural, but the sound they created musically was nothing like they had experienced before. As a result, the songs of The Sundance Kids are powerful indie/pop/rock anthems that declare their hand-on-heart statements of devotion, while simultaneously revealing their heart-on-sleeve confessions.
