In 2004 Tone Tone released his album “Skoolz In Session” which featured major artists such as B.G. and Detroit mega producer K.I.D.D.. He first gained national attention with his lead single “I Ain’t Playin Witcha” which was produced by K.I.D.D. When 2005 came around Tone Tone was an established Detroit artist. He released his first mixtape “Strictly Fo Da Streetz”. His group New Skool also released their debut album titled “D-Boy Surviva” which was also released under Wide Open Records. In 2006 Tone Tone released two mixtapes both hosted by DJ Young Mase titled “Motivation For Da New Generation” & “Ride Witcha Boy Mixtape”. It was noted that around this time Tone Tone signed with Jazze Pha’s Sho’Nuff Records. Then in the summer of 2007 Tone Tone released his second full length album titled “D-Boy Fresh” which put out the single “What Up Doe” which made its world premier on 97.9 WJLB.
