Upstation is tagged as: electronic, russian, synthpop, indie, electropop

Moscow-based band Upstation was founded in summer of 2009 by musician and producer Leo Vasilets owing to his love for 70’s and 80’s music. The original features of Upstation’s music are half-broken bass guitar with worn-out strings and italo sounds derived from vintage synthesizer “Maestro”. These qualities being splendidly intertwined with racy modern arrangements prove once more: there’s no border between the past and the present, so 80’s are alive and well.
Upstation’s EP of the same name had been released in May, 2010 and the band obtained good reviews from Western blogs. The critics didn’t fail to compare Upstation with such cult bands of 80’s like Talk Talk and Simple Minds while David Bowie’s inflexions were found in vocalist’s voice. Being home for such stars like Thieves Like Us also cool French label DeBonton has made a contract with Upstation to release one track on label’s compilation. Аs a consequence Upstation had to shorten EP for one track and delegate it to the French. By the way, you can download EP from Upstation’s official homepage (http://upstation.ru)|...
