A diverse variety of influences includes artists and composers from Beach Boys to Stevie Wonder and J.S. Bach to Frank Zappa. Vaiko became well known at quite a young age in the mid-late-90s when living a rock ‘n roll dream in a brit-pop laden outfit called Claire’s Birthday. In 2003 the latter was renamed to Ruffus which - after a nation-wide televote and popular request - attended and provided a quality-check to the Eurovision song contest with Eighties [Haties?] Coming Back.
