Vanessa Petruo (Vany) is the eldest of three siblings born a German father, Thomas Petruo, and a Spanish-Peruvian mother, Mercedes. She was raised in Berlin next to her brother Jan-Alexander and her sister Priszilla. Due to her father’s work as a professional actor and her grand-father’s prominence as a famous radio show host, Vanessa started singing, acting and synchronizing movies at the age of seven. In her teenage years she made several appearances on German television, while gaining experiences in music with own bands and first professional song recordings.
