Makar was born in The Woodlands, Texas to John Nestor Makar and Shirlyn Ann Morehead; his last name is of Ukrainian origin. Will is now signed with Double Deal Brand Records out of New York.| Makar studied Japanese and was named to the Texas All-State Choir in Spring of 2008. He was a 16-year-old sophomore at The Woodlands College Park High School during his Idol run. He graduated from high in June of 2008; and moved to Austin TX to attend school and work as a singer and promote his CD which was released in June of 2008. In secondary school, Makar starred in a number of musical productions. In 1999 Makar sang with the Houston Children’s Chorus for President Bill Clinton, and again in 2002 for President George W. Bush. After five years as a member of the Houston Children’s Chorus, Makar decided he had grown too old, and “retired.” In 2003, Makar, along with his three friends Louis, Bobby, and Aaron, formed a band called Last Born, of which Makar held the position of the lead vocals until 2005, when he decided to pursue a solo career.
