Alessi's Ark is the musical project of Alessi Laurent-Marke, she grew up in Hammersmith London and first came into the music when her mother gave her a copy of Graham Nash's 1971 album "Songs for Beginners' She began playing at age 11 when her secondary school required students to develop an instrument that she decided drumsHer drum teacher played locally in various bands and through this she began to come to see various bands live with her father sometimes goes to as many as four shows a week This caused her to start their own fanzines called Brain Bulletin (which is now continuing in the form of a blog on their website) where she wrote about her favorite books, tapes and films inspired by a family friend in New York who wrote a fanzine called The Curse, she distributescoated ITvid concerts by a local record shop and a laundry service at Shepherd's Bush Road As part of the courses for her music GCSE, she had to compose music and lyrics to a song by the basic chords, she had learned lurking around on his sister's guitar and "the combination of poetry and stories I had written for my fanzine" she composed the song Glendora (who finished in her debut album) as her music teacher encouraged her to sing at school assembly discover a new passion for writing and performing, she l...
