Dewa 19 biography

Dewa 19 is a pop rock band from Surabaya, Indonesia. Since the band’s formation in 1986 there have been a number of changes to the band name and lineup. They were previously known as Down Beat and Dewa. The current members are: Dhani Ahmad Prasetyo (keyboards), Andra Junaidi (guitars), Yuke Sampurna (bass), and [bandmember from=1999]
Former members were Wawan Juniarso and Wong Aksan (both were drummers), Erwin Prasetya (bass), and Ari Lasso (vocals),Elfonda Mekel[/bandmember] (vocals), Setyo Nugroho[/bandmember] (drums).
Dhani has side-project band The Rock and Andra has side-project band Andra and the Backbone.
In year 2000 they change their name from Dewa 19 to Dewa
