History Books began as a solo project by Seth McGaha in Minneapolis MN. With the addition of James McGaha and Chris White, the group is ready to release 2 albums. The McGaha brothers are originally from the Portland Oregon area, and have performed both as solo artists and collective bands in the past 5 years.
Baby’s First Buzz Cut EP is a stripped down acoustic album that serves as a vague preview for the groups full length album, “Love the Swimmer, Hate the Swim”, due January 12th 2010. The bands full length album’s sound is much more dense and driven than the fairly light and brief “Baby’s First Buzz Cut EP”. The band is set to play their CD Release Show at 7th Street Entry with friends Red Fox Grey Fox and Friends of the AMS on January 12th 2010. Tickets and times TBA.
History Books’ sound can be compared to Band of Horses, Built to Spill, Broken Social Scene. With a slight alt-county influence, this indie rock band brings ambient tones with layers of vocals and guitars. |
