Rachael Cantu is an American singer-songwriter, born in 1982, she grew up in Orange County, CA, she currently lives in both Los Angeles, CA and Boston
Cantu began his career as a vette one Southern California indie rock band Quite Satellite while he still went on high school She later wrote and performed as a solo artist in Los Angeles and San Diego, CA, and opened for bands like The Get Up Kids Saves the Day and Karate After moving to Boston, her reputation grew among fellow artists Cantu opened for the Canadian folk-pop duo Tegan and Sara on two North American tours and also for Dear Nora and Ben Lee
Tegan Quin of Tegan and Sara appeared as backing vocals on Run All Night and Tony Goddess of Papas Frits Cantu has also recorded songs with Limbeck Kori Gardner of Mates of State, and Jason Gnewikow of The Promise Ring
Musical Cantu has been described as "something of a mix of The Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde PJ Harvey Sarah McLachlan Norah Jones and Amy Winehouse" She has also compared oral with Bjork and Patty Griffin
She is currently working on her new album with Meghan Toohey Toohey's MySpace Blog says, "still disconnect when Rachael record but it is unlikely that it will be ready for your ears whenany time soon, I will say it is awesome and we're working to get it to you ASAP "
