While she’s finishing her new album, partly recorded in New York, the Oslo artist has singed with Bonnier Amigo, Scandinavia’s leading indie label. - I’ve been following Bonnier Amigo and their artists and I’m looking forward to working with them, says Samsaya. - They have a good team, large network, ears to the street and they let me make pop music that I can be proud of. I’m really excited about my new single and I can’t wait for people to hear it. The response on my live shows have been amazing. The song Samsaya is referring to is “Money”, the follow up to “Change”. At the same time as she is releasing “Money”, her album track “Dodge It” is featured in the American hit film “The Wrestler” starring Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei, who both got Oscar nominated. Samsaya is currently one of the leads in the TV reality show «The Clash of the Choirs» («Det store korslaget») on national Norwegian televison, (TV2) where she is training a choir from her hometown Oslo. After the release of her debut album “Shedding Skin” in 2004, Samsaya has starred in the films “Villmark”, “Folk flest bor i Kina”, “Hawaii Oslo” and “Varg Veum: Begravde hunder” and done voice over for Walt Disney movies. Last year she was the main character on the NRK produced animated TV show “Jallarud”, in addition to being a VJ on the music channel Voice TV. |
