Sleepthief is an electronic/vocal musical recording project of producers/composers Justin Elswick and Israel Curtis. Jody Quine was the project’s first female vocalist.
Elswick had been writing music for 10 years prior to the debut album “The Dawnseeker” in 2006. Elswick, who graduated from Brigham Young with a history degree and is now a practicing attorney, is a self-taught musician. His interest in music started at an early age and continued into high school where he was a DJ. His interest in new age music developed as soon as he first heard Enya’s “Watermark.” The Celtic influences in Elswick’s music were further developed during a stay in Ireland to obtain a philosophy degree from Trinity College.
Sleepthief’s music is similar to that of Balligomingo and Delerium - synthesized new age music combined with ethnic influences and female singers. |
