Aya began her music career as indie artist 久里夢 (Kurimu/KLIM), releasing a single in 2003 and a mini-album in 2004. She then released two indie mini-albums in 2005 under the stage name 上木彩矢. On March 15, 2006, Aya debuted as a major artist under GIZA studio with her first single Communication Break.
