Ellen Allien’s excellent label broadens its considerable perspectives still further. On the a side, Alex’s vocal sits somewhere between the sleazieat, low down urban funk on ‘Redlight’, and the 21st century paranioas of a Mark Stewart, in his dubfunk period with the Maffia and Adrian Sherwood - yet somehow evolved for the opener ‘I Get Highe’r’. ‘Nu Pogadi’ ups the ante’s with some wickedly dark dancefloor electro, then ‘Let Me In’ introduces a note of contemplation, basically a electrosoulfolk ballad in a roughly Donna Regina-ish style, yet the male vocal somehow takes away some of the innocence. A palpable hit!
