Alex Santer hails from Thessaloniki, Greece. With a burgeoning reputation as a talented newcomer in House, Santer is fast proving himself more than just another flash-in-the-pan DJ/producer/remixer. Hes spent over 10 years honing a sound and craft, and has held his own against some of the genres biggest jocks, sharing the decks with Paul Van Dyk, John Digweed, Victor Calderone, Danny Howells, Jeff Mills, Chus & Ceballos, Armin Van Buren, Richie Santana, John Creamer & Stephan K, Junior Jack, Felix Da Housecat, Alex Neri and many, many more.
Alex began his career in music production in 1994 and as a DJ in 1995, although it would be some time before he made a name for himself. He released his first productions as Alex Trax beginning in 2001 on a handful of small, indie labels: Big Chief, Siesta, Mi Casa, and Courtsquare. In 2002, he began his residency at Decadence, and released his most then-most successful title, the Tribal Salonika EP on Sentient, which earned him support and respect from Hernan Catanneo, Steve Lawler and other leading DJs of the day.
In early 2005, Alex connected with a label that had a profound impact on his career choice and sincere love for dance music. The label was TWISTED, and his inaugural effort for the imprint was a remix of Superchumbos Everything U. It was this mix which carried the song to No 2 on the Billboard Club Play chart in October 2005, and in short course, Alex was the newest addition to a highly prestigous roster and heritage. His debut TWISTED single Hello? (released in February 2006) exploded on the chart, grabbing the No 1 Breakout, Hot Shot Debut and Power Pick slots on the first, second and third weeks of promotion respectively, ultimately peaking at No 5. Many remixes followed like Adam Freemer’s “Undergound baby”, Alyson’s “Take a good look” and Barton’s “To call my own” which also got a place on Billboards Club play chart. “Utica” was his next single in early 2008 which got great support and included to many compilations which lead him to a different sound and most recent releases of “21 questions / Haptic” and “Blink / Lacuna”.
The beggining of 2009 found him on Chumbomundo Records with the release of “Wacky” which was included in Tom Stephan’s “Headz Vol.2” compilation and the release of his remix to the legendary song of Yoko Ono “Give peace a chance”.|
